Creatures

My daughter gave me some of her creatures while I was visiting but they wouldn't fit in my suitcase so she had to mail them to me. Two Christmas stocking dolls that fit right in with the stuffed toys I put near the tree. I don't think I will let the kids play with them though.
This is really my favorite - purple creature. Kids can play with him.

Knitting and Boats

My son in law has a big project going - he is building a canoe/sail boat. He is building it from a kit that starts out with the wood.
Here is Kevin next to the canoe - you can see how long it is.
My daughter knits and it just amazes me how she can get so many needles going at one time and keep track of what she is doing.
She had five small needles going for this project. She pushed them up so I could get a picture of them. I crochet which is a much more forgiving craft - it is easy to take out stitches when you make a mistake.

Behind the Scenes

While at my daughter's for Thanksgiving I got to see some behind the scenes work for her store and blog Fluffy Flowers.com Here is a box of creatures waiting to be photographed.
Here is my daughter taking pictures. She uses a variety of back drops. Usually she has a certain window she takes pictures in but that day the sun was gone already from the window.
Here is the last step putting the pictures on her blog and in her Etsy shop. It is a lot of work besides making the creatures to begin with.

The day I left in the afternoon she was whipping up a couple of Christmas stockings. She is so talented.

This is the lovely center piece my daughter had for the Thanksgiving table. She changed it just a bit and it turned out great.
Here's our turkey cooked in a bag. Since I discovered Reynolds cooking bags my turkeys come out moist and delicious just like this one did.
Getting ready to eat. We had a table full of food and family and it was a grateful dinner.

Thanksgiving

Table all set for a Thanksgiving feast. As we each spoke of the things we were grateful for many of us added being with family on this special day.
Kevin jumped right in and did a wonderful job of carving the turkey.
Me next to a beautiful flower arrangement my daughter did for Thanksgiving.
It was just a blur when the food started to fill up the table and tummies were rumbling smelling all good cooking.

My plane trip back was easier then I thought - I think everyone was out shopping Friday so that left the airport not crowed. At least my flight back was non stop.
Saturday morning Steve leaves with his daughter to go to Maryland to try and get her daughters back from their father who kidnapped them last month. They may run into some traffic with people going home from Thanksgiving.

Excited

One more day before the big day - the day I get to fight my way to check in, make it through security, find my air lines and flight before it takes off with out me.

I am so looking forward to seeing my daughter. Thanksgiving is always nice at her house and her husbands mother comes too and a sweeter lady you couldn't meet.

My daughter starts with her Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving but I won't be able to help this year as I have to return the day after Thanksgiving. Steve has to take his daughter to Maryland to get custody of her two girls that their father kidnapped last month. The have to go to court in Maryland. I worry about Steve driving so far but his daughter's husband is going to help with the driving. There is plenty of room in Steve's truck to haul everyone back - that is assuming they get the girls.

We are having a cold snap here. Forty five yesterday morning - suppose to be colder in the morning then snap it will be gone for a while before another cold snap moves in. We haven't been having too cold winters lately.

Well I won't be blogging till after Thanksgiving so:

Happy Thanksgiving to All!

Addictive Flower Making

Hadn't realized I haven't put a post up in a while. I started the flowers for my daughter at last and now can't seem to be able to stop making them.

This Thanksgiving I get to spend with my daughter in Macon. I am going to fly up there - don't really like the hassle but at least they take care of your suitcases - if you go by bus you are responsible for transferring your baggage from bus to bus if you have to change and most of the time you do have to change buses.

Got myself another rolling suitcase so I can handle them with out too much trouble till I get checked in. Going through security is a hassle.

Steve is on his own for this Thanksgiving - feel bad about leaving him but he said to go. Matter of fact he said stay a couple of weeks - would you think we are getting on each other's nerves just a bit.

Steve went to one mediation about his worker's comp and the lawyer is trying to set up another one. It just takes so much time.
