Window

Thank goodness I was in the kitchen making coffee at five am because someone threw a rock through our window in the living room. Why do people do these stupid things. We really have no idea of who it was but there is one suspect who were didn't know if they knew where we lived.
The culprit - I am not sure if they threw two or if it broke when it hit the window there are two holes in the window.
Another picture of the window. It just makes us so mad. It is going to take forever to get all the tiny pieces of glass cleaned up. The sheriff came out and took a report just so it will be on record in case anything else happens. I need to put more tape on the plastic on the window now that it is daylight.

Dolls and Windows

You have to check out my sister's blog Oh for the Love of Doll Making - her and hubby went to a miniature doll show and she was thrilled. It is the sort of art she has wanted to do for a long time. She has lots of pictures. She is so talented.

Mowing

Steve got tired of the grass being so tall and bought a very small lawn mower. When I asked him how he was steering it with his bad arm he said he was steering it with his good one that the bad arm was just resting on the handle. He loves to mow grass, likes everything about it - the smell, pushing the lawn mower even with one arm and even the sweat he builds up. It took a lot of rest stops but he got it mowed and said the next time would be easier because it would be shorter.

The passion vine cuttings I put in a pot have all died now so I have to think of another way - maybe they would root in water - worth a try.

Have two doctor's appointments next week and they want me to bring the girls over here for a couple of days for a few hours a day - give everyone a break.

Think it is time for my second nap. Didn't sleep too well last night.

Oh No - A Picture

I want to thank everyone for their kind comments on the wedding. Well here is one of the two pictures that were taken of me. As usual I was behind the camera. No one seems to be able to figure out how to use my camera though all you have to do is push the button down and hold it. Oh well, I don't take a good picture any way.

Haven't heard from the bride and groom since the day after the wedding so we are assuming everything is going fine.

Next week is going to be hectic for me - three doctor's appointments and I have to call my primary doctor - I think I goofed when this doctor I hadn't heard of called - I looked back at my papers and all the referral says is out patient so I have no idea of where to go. I can hardly walk on my right leg now - no one can tell me why I get these cysts. At least I can still drive or I would be up the creek without a paddle.

A Sharp Dressed Man

Steve cleans up real nice when he wants to. You have no idea of what I went through to get him in a suit. I had to scout it out and have all the details ready when he got home. The only thing was he insisted that he wore a medium shirt and when we got home and tried it on we couldn't button it. So back to the store I went the next day and exchanged it for the large I wanted to buy in the first place.

We had a long day the day of the wedding - Steve worked in the morning, then had a doctor's appointment in the afternoon then we had to be home in time to get ready for the wedding.

I had a glitch of my own - I decided I better get my shoes out and ready - my nice looking comfortable black dress shoes - you know where this is going - I emptied every closet - looked like someone had ransacked the house - NO shoes! When I was cleaning things out I must have put them in the bag to donate to the mission. There were several shoes in boxes so that is what I figure happened to them. So a hurried trip to Wal Mart and I had a pair of black shoes that killed my feet. I went barefoot after the reception. If I had just looked a little more there was a nice pair of Dr. Shoals - which I now have and the hurting shoes are back at Wal Mart.

Some pictures of the wedding is in the post below this one. Now if I can sort out my doctor's appointments Monday I will be a happy person and ready to settle down to the old routine.

The Wedding

The wedding went well. It was a nice service. I shed a tear for these two young people setting out on the journey of life together. In the first picture is the wedding party. The second picture is Steph's Dad with them and the third is when they joined hands. The girls were so cute in their dresses - the head wreaths hid their short hair. Cobie looked so grown up in his suit.

Well that is the last of Steve's daughters to marry. Unless the older one decides to marry again it may be the grandkids next but that is many years away.

Afternoon with Amber

Steve's oldest grand daughter spent the afternoon with us - she came dressed nice and we found her one of my t shirts that made her a dress. We made soap by melting the stuff in the microwave then pouring into molds. She enjoyed that. We had been trying to get a chance for a long time to make the soap.
Amber in her nice dress.
Amber getting her humor back. Her Dad has tested clear of any cancer for a month now so they are stopping the treatments. He just has to go back every two months for a while then the doctors will stretch the time out. We are all so happy about his recovery.

Let Me Get That

Another really cute picture from my friend.

It looks like we are going to have a wedding Thursday - Steve's daughter Steph and her boy friend are going to tie the knot. They have planned several times but each time the plans fell through. Maybe luck will be with them this time. First time for each of them.

Groceries today - I think for the first time in weeks I didn't use the free coupons - wasn't anything I wanted. Treated myself to the Raineer cherries. They will be gone soon and they are so good. Put the word cherry on anything and I will eat it.

Next week is going to be hectic so I may not get to post or visit blogs but things should calm down after that.

Such A Week

Such a week - doctor's appointment set and reset. A wedding coming up if things don't fall through this time. Worker's comp backing out on what they promised - thunder storms every afternoon - love the rain but they can keep the lighting.

Things are working out thought. Was up early but went back to sleep - guess I needed it. Will try to post later.

Awwww

A friend sent me this picture and it was just so cute I wanted to share it with all my blogger friends. Maybe the kitten is thinking well Mom uses this all the time I'll just snuggle up to it.

Steve went off to work today. Don't know how long it will last but he is going to try. Phone was still acting up last night - had to turn the answering machine off. I'll mess with it today and see what is wrong with it.

This is going to be a no rushing around day. That starts tomrrow with a doctor's appointment.

Bought all the kids their own bowl and cup - going to put their names on them - so I don't have to keep buying disposibles for them to have a snack in. All this time Wal Mart had a large asile of picnic stuff and I kept putting it off well when I went to buy the bowls and cups that was all gone - school supplies were there. I did find one little space at the end of a row were they had the last of the plastic picnic wear. We don't have any plastic bowls in the house. I even bought one for the baby Marisa because I know the kids will ask where her's is. I can hear it now we will go through everybody's name to make sure no one was left out.

Blue Tongues

This was just too cute not to share. After our trip to the beach the other day the girls had icys that turned their tongues blue. I think they liked the icys better then the ice cream - have to remember that.

No Phone

For a heart stopping moment Thursday I thought my computer modem had died on me - the computer kept telling me there was no dial tone. Well I checked the phone and sure enough no dial tone. Using the neighbor cell phone I called our local Verizon office and after talking to a computer for a while reached a live 'agent'. She was very snotty with me after I told her I had checked everything inside and the problem had to be outside. What really threw me for a loop was that she said it would be fixed Friday between eight am and two thirty. Asking her if it was possible for someone to come out sooner you could tell she was sneering from the tone in her voice and took pleasure in telling me no.

Well it was outside and it took the man over two hours to track down the problem and we at last had phone service by four thirty Friday afternoon. What made it worse was I had left for an early doctor's appointment and Steve went to his job site for a while thinking I would be home when he got there. I ended up having to go to the hospital for some tests and it just took forever. They were kind enough to give me a phone so I could try and call home. I finally called my mother and told her where I was and that if Steve called her to let him know I was OK and would be home soon. It was a good thing I did that Steve said when the phone was working the first person he would call would be my mother and if she didn't know where I was he was going to start calling hospitals thinking maybe I had a wreck.

What ever happened to the days when the phone company made sure you had service as soon as possible and you didn't have to wait around all day for the repair man. Guess we will never see those days again. I am totally spoiled though - I was lost with out a phone. I even thought about going to the convinece store and buying one of those minute phones but I didn't know how much they were so we toughed it out for a whole night without a phone. Never really thought how much the phone line connects us to the rest of the world.

Happy Fourth

Hope everyone had a happy and safe Fourth of July. We just spent a quiet day. We didn't have to buy fireworks or go anywhere - we just had to step on our front porch at dusk and fireworks were going off all around us. By ten everything settled down. I think they have a curfew for fire works now.

Been having to stay off the computer so the phone line is free. Things are going good. Steve gets an evaluation and new therapy today - he is not looking forward to it at all.

Kids At The Beach

The kids had fun swimming for a while till they got hungry. I had forgotten little ones need a snack so we loaded up and went to McDonald's. A couple of tired kids took a little nap before Mom picked them up.

Sleep Over

Mom was so happy when we called and asked if we could bring the girls home to spend the night. I must have moved the camera to have the picture come out so fuzzy. All the way to our place they asked if we would buy them a toy - when we arrived and pulled out the comforter and sheets they like to sleep on that was the best playing they liked wrapping up in them.
Jerica showing off her 'head stand'. Jerica is learning to use her quiet voice. I learned that from her Mom to just tell Jerica to use her quiet voice instead of talking a mile a minuet at the top of her lungs. They come by it naturally all of Steve's family are talkers including him.
Grandpa and the girls. He was feeling so much better after seeing the doctor. He didn't want to have to call worker's comp if he didn't make enough time at work but he has decided that is what he is going to have to do. There just isn't enough light work in dry wall and contruction for some one with only one arm. Steve was working and heard a pop and his ring finger on his left hand - the one he can use - was bent over - the doctor told him he had torn a tendon in it and now the poor thing has a splint on the only hand he can use for six weeks.

The Girls

Grandpa was in such a better mood that he suggested we go get the girls and let them spend the night. I think Moocher was jealous.
Moocher let Jasmine pet him as long as he was on Grandpa's lap.
